Meisha Hunter was the historic preservation consultant for the design of a new residential building in a historic district.
The preservation philosophy that makes a lot of sense to me is that preservation is like recycling — it’s as practical as recycling. And what you try to do is look at each individual situation and try to figure out what’s the appropriateness argument for this particular situation. What’s important is to talk about whether change is appropriate and what kind of change is appropriate. - Meisha Hunter
