PATH Structures

NY - NJ

PANYNJ sought to initiate Section 106 Review for seven historic PATH properties in New York and New Jersey affected by Superstorm Sandy, in accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act. The proposed undertaking anticipated installing flood mitigation measures and assessing the potential effect of these mitigation measures on historic fabric. The PATH properties include Harrison Station; Grove Street Station; Newport Station; Christopher Street Station; and Hoboken Station, within the historic Erie Lackawanna Terminal; Hack Bridge; and the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad Powerhouse.

Li · Saltzman Architects served as Preservation Consultants for the Section 106 Review, performing field survey and historic research, and evaluating potential impacts of proposed flood mitigation measures on character defining features.
