Prominently sited on the corner of West 103rd Street and Broadway, the distinctive brick, limestone, and terra cotta 1905 Beaux-Arts building was designed as a hotel was by Harry Allan Jacobs. In 1978, the building was purchased by the West Side Federation for Senior and Support Housing (WSFSSH), a non-for-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing to seniors. The building was designated as an individual New York City Landmark in 1990.

Li · Saltzman Architects has provided preservation services for the non-for-profit organization in the stewardship of its historic flagship property. Projects include a multi-phased window replacement campaign, the development of a repair program for the building’s limestone base and replacement of existing exterior lighting and security cameras, working with ESKW Architects on a historically appropriate design for new paired entry doors, and assisting Surface Design Group with Local Law 11 repairs and documentation.
