41 Park Row (former New York Times Building), currently owned by Pace University, has a significant presence on Printing House Square, and is one of the last survivors of Newspaper Row. 41 Park Row is an individually-designated NYC landmark and a contributing building in the National Register listed Fulton-Nassau Historic District.

The building has a complex history of alterations. Incorporating sections of an earlier five story 1857 building, a 12-story plus mansard was designed by George B. Post and constructed in 1888-89; the building was enlarged to 16 stories in 1903-05 with Robert Maynicke as architect.

In order to provide a more welcoming, transparent, and defined presence for their campus, Pace University engaged FXFowle Architects to redesign the building’s base to accommodate a new gallery and student center. LSA served as a Historic Preservation Consultant to the team an assisted in presenting the project to the Community Board and the Landmarks Preservation Commission. Worked was approved in summer 2017 and construction is anticipated to be completed in 2018.
